After re-reading this post, I examined my sad life and thought about what I have in common with my current bunch of co-workers
1) We are considered quite the freaks by friends, the willingness to do 24 by 7 rotating shift work. I have had more than a few friends commenting that I'm the only friend they know performing shift work (barring important people like doctors and nurses). Since Father has always done shiftwork, I guess I was more open to the idea of having to work odd hours, but I can't speak for the rest. Shall conduct a poll.
2) All of us lack bigger ambitions, or the skill set necessary to achieve the bigger ambitions. Customer service, seriously, is hardly a profession, train a monkey to talk and he can do customer service. A couple of us actually have accounting degrees, but refuse to join auditing firms and are therefore consigned to answering the phone until the next job comes along. Perhaps we're not confident enough of our capabilities, perhaps we need to dream bigger dreams.
I cannot think of a third point. Maybe it's the most obvious one, the fact that we're all on the lookout for a better job. Good luck to us all.
