Citibank's waiver

5 short years after I left the call centre, I found myself on the other end of the phone line, asking for a waiver for a return GIRO charge of 10 freaking bucks. I remember a time when cash flow was less of a problem (simply because I had less cash to flow), when I was paid a paltry sum to seek waivers for late charges, interest charges and annual fees for callers who can well afford the penalties levied on their tardiness, I promised myself I'd never be one of those idiots who call at 4am to ask for a waiver. That I'll accept the charges gracefully if it were a genuine mistake on my part. Alas, my life has failed the dream I dreamed.

I finally caught Avatar on Wednesday, having read in the papers that its well on it's way to becoming the top grossing film of all time. CL told me it's the most expensive movie ever made, costing more than the epic Titanic, and that alone warranted a journey to the wilderness of Orchard Road so that I could experience firsthand the Real 3D that Shaw has been boasting about. The visual effects were indeed stunning, and I can only imagine what a painstaking effort it is to make the forest path light up only as Jake and gf trode on it, but I couldn't for the life of me understand what the big fuss over the movie is about. It's probably because I watched it way way too late, after I heard too many people gushing over it. Didn't stop me, though, from wishing that I had long hair so that I too had a pigtail that I could fuse with the bloody central air-conditioning to turn up the temperature slightly above freezing.

Planned my holidays early this year. Abu Dhabi in March, Thailand in April for Songkran (yay! Must remember to bring the super soakers), Yunnan with the clan in June, and then some more. How to save money at this rate, you tell me?
