Now I know. If I log on to blogger.com and leave it on overnight to load, I eventually reach the 'Create Post' page. Nice.

I went to see the doc on 2nd May running a temperature of 38.5deg, and even now the fever is recurring. On top of my fever, I have sore throat on one side of the throat (doc said it's a viral infection, not throat ulcer), and congested nose and ears. The doctor gave me an injection, and the fever immediately subsided (it was quite miraculous, really). I went home to sleep, and within about 8 hours, the fever came back and I was suffering the chills, wearing 2 sets of clothings with winter socks and covering myself with the thick comforter I brought over specially for winter.

I took 2 Panadol Extras at about 5am on 3rd May, and the fever went away again. So, I was well enough to attend my 2nd driving lesson at 9am on 3rd May. After I returned, approximately 8 hours after I took the Panadol, I was running a temperature again. I took yet another 2 Panadol Extras at 12.30pm before going to sleep. And, I woke up at 2pm feeling fine! However, I was soon feverish, and I called the doctor. She told me to take the Panadol Extras every 4 hours instead, so I did. I took 2 more at 4pm, and then 2 again at 10.30pm.

I have no idea how I came to be so sick, except that I might have caught it from my flatmate (who had only a minor cold when she returned from KL). Oh, and that I might be allergic to cacti. See, what happened was that I stumbled and had lots of cactus needles stuck to my right thigh on 1st May. I didn't tell anybody because it was major embarassment! I just went straight to the toilet and tried to pick the needles out as best as I could. I don't know if the constant high fever is due to the cactus, or maybe because of the viral infection. The doctor didn't prescribe any antibiotics, just Panadol for the fever, a mouth gargle for the throat infection, and nasal spray for the congestion. I also have spectacular diarrhoea (where the stool is in liquid form), but that might be due to menses (first day on 3rd May). So, I'm sick as a dog, but don't know why. And the fever shows no sign of abating. I might just have to stay on Panadol Extra for the rest of my life, bah.

The fact that I have the strength to rant so indicates a certain degree of recovery, and indeed I'm feeling quite well at the moment. Although that might be due to the fact that I took another 2 Panadol Extras at 6am this morning, 4th May. It's been awhile since I ingested so much paracetamol :s
